DAWSON CREEK, B.C. -- South Peace ranchers say federal and provincial money for B.C.'s drought-affected livestock producers is too little, too late. "People had to take action already," South Peace Stockmen's Association director Mac Leask Sr. said. "They sold down their cattle, or bought feed."

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. (CP) - The plant superintendent at a rendering plant told the Robert Pickton murder trial Tuesday that lax security prior to 2002 enabled many people to dump their loads of animal remains with little or no checking of the contents.
